Task 5: In 7 days, write a blog post from one of the topics you learned during the session.
Hello worldππ½ππ½
How are we faring today?
This is the fifth task of the Hashnode bootcamp and we are to write from one of the topics we learned during the bootcamp. I will be writing on one of the topics that caught my interest which was the session taken by Ido Shamun of Daily dev, 'What is an AAA Publication?'
What is an AAA Publication?

An AAA (or Triple A) publication is know for their consistent, high quality and unique content. Another characteristics of an AAA publication is that it has a large audience or followership and it reflect in the number of likes, comments, etc.
Why we should all consider publishing in a AAA Publication?
To earn money
To increase our reach
To enrich our portfolio
To improve our writing
Some Demerits include:
Much more time is involved in creating an AAA Publication
Much more effort is required
Risk of rejection

How do we approach AAA Publishers?
- Preparation/Research
Part of preparation is to read the publishers guidelines for writers, to know and understand the kind of audience that publication has. To also know the publishers writing style and thereafter come up with a clear idea for the article.
- Pitching the idea To the Publishers
This requires that we choose a solid title. Then we write out an outline that shows what do we intend for people to learn and why do we think we are the right person to write about it. We have to be convincing enough in our Pitch.
- Writing the idea
After understanding the writing style of the publisher, we can then write using the understanding as a guide. Try to be as descriptive as possible. If we are writing with codes, include the code snippets. Add references for further reading or data sources and all.
- Publication of the writing
Understand that professional editing takes time. We can schedule at least one week ahead before we publish. We can share our articles on our other social media platforms and tag the publishing house. It's important to have our bio ready, some publishers might have need for it.
Other golden rules
While waiting for our publication to be approved, let's try not to be pushy. Publishing takes time, be patient. Also, we should avoid sending the same idea to multiple publishers at the same time.
In conclusion
It's important to handle rejection with a positive mindset, as it is frequent in AAA publishing. Rejection doesn't mean anything, we can always try again, we can pitch a new idea.
Never loose sight of how amazing you are because you were rejected...You still rock!!
